A Lovely Lunch Out at the Oyster Inn

With the sunshine finally making an appearance, we were thrilled to start our regular outings again! For our first trip of the year, we headed to the Oyster Inn in Connel for a delicious lunch, and what a fantastic time we had.
Four of our residents, along with two of our Activity Coordinators, set off for a lovely afternoon by the water. Everyone enjoyed a hearty meal—some tucked into freshly caught fish and chips, while others opted for a homemade steak pie. Safe to say, there wasn’t much left on the plates by the end!

Over lunch, we got chatting about the Connel Bridge and its history. Some of our residents fondly remembered the days when it was still a toll bridge, and we all had a good laugh about how long you used to have to wait when the train was crossing! It was lovely to hear their stories and reminisce about how things used to be.
The outing was a real treat—not just for the food, but for the chance to get out, meet new people, and enjoy a change of scenery. Everyone said how much they loved it and how nice it was to do something different. It really felt like a little taste of better weather is on its way. We came back home with full tummies and big smiles, and we’re already looking forward to the next trip!
At Etive House, we believe in creating special moments like these, where residents can enjoy life to the fullest. If you’d like to find out more about our home and the care we provide, get in touch today to arrange a visit!
