Gardening has been always been a focal point, with residents dedicating time to planting and tidying the greenery that surrounds our home. As they nurture the blossoms and tend to the foliage, conversations naturally veer towards reminiscences of past summers and the gardens that have graced their lives over the years.

This communal endeavour has not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of Etive House but has also proven to be immensely beneficial for the residents. Whilst sitting in the sunlight, they enjoy light exercise, feeling the rejuvenating effects of nature. The shared moments also foster social interaction, cultivating the residents' sense of belonging and companionship.

Our industrious spirit doesn't stop at the flower beds. Some of our gentlemen have embarked on a mission to refurbish the garden benches. Their efforts aim to make the garden look fabby and make it as comfortable as possible for us all to enjoy time outdoors.

Adaptations have been made to accommodate the needs of the less mobile residents. Wheelchair users can now access the beach, either to enjoy the relaxing sound of the waves or even have a wee paddle if they fancy it. This thoughtful initiative reflects the unwavering commitment of Etive House towards ensuring that every resident can enjoy the fine weather, irrespective of their physical limitations.

As the days lengthen and the sun shines on our lovely care home in Oban, residents are looking forward to a summer spent enjoying nature in our beautiful surroundings.
