Our Valentine’s Day Celebration

Residents and staff at Etive House were definitely feeling the love this Valentine’s Day.

This Valentine's Day, love was certainly in the air at Etive House Care Home. Residents dressed themselves in their favourite outfits, some wearing red jumpers and even red earrings. We held a wonderful Valentine's lunch together in one of our dining rooms with residents enjoying some of their favourite delicacies and refreshments on tables decorated especially for the occasion with handkerchiefs, confetti, and flowers.

Everybody also took the time to choose one of our handmade love hearts and write down a heartfelt message for a special loved one. The handwritten messages were displayed in and around the lounge area with some other decorations we hung up, so our residents could be surrounded by those they love during this time of year.

Our team at Etive House Care Home in Oban believes it is important to celebrate national events throughout the year such as Valentine's Day as it allows people to form new, unforgettable bonds, can bring like-minded individuals together, and means that residents can express themselves however they wish to. It is also a brilliant time to welcome friends and families of residents into the home which helps to maintain the relationship between individuals and their loved ones and make sure they are in regular contact.

This Valentine's Day went down as a success and we are looking forward to being able to celebrate the next occasion at our care home in Benderloch, Oban.
