Introducing the Furry Residents of Etive House Care Home

You know all about what the human residents of Etive House Care Home in Benderloch get up to but did you know we're also home to two furry residents? Ginger found his forever home in a serendipitous encounter with our caring home manager. Rescued as a tiny kitten from the depths of a village bush, Ginger's fate was sealed as he stole the hearts of all who crossed his path. His playful antics and affectionate purrs quickly endeared him to the community, solidifying his place as a cherished resident of Etive House.

Joining Ginger in the halls of our home is Holly, a charming feline with a story of her own. Formerly an employee's pet, Holly moved into Etive House after circumstances meant she needed a new home. If you're looking for Holly, you'll likely find her napping, on top of the printer or nestled on a resident's bed.

Everyone loves our furry friends; they're a lovely form of therapy that enriches the lives of our residents. Research has shown that interactions with animals, like Ginger and Holly, can alleviate stress, reduce feelings of loneliness and even improve cognitive function in elderly individuals and those living with dementia. At Etive House in Benderloch, we recognise the profound impact of pet therapy and our feline residents play an integral role in nurturing the wellbeing of all who call our home theirs.
