Trip to See the Seals in Oban Bay

We took our residents to the lovely Oban Bay. With warmer weather, it was the perfect time to get our residents into a different environment and create some special memories.

We boarded an adorable wooden boat and took our landlubbers out on the briney sea. Our residents and staff were guided around the bay on the ‘Purple Heather' boat. We all benefited from fresh sea air and the chance to see some natural wildlife and reconnect with nature.

We were lucky enough to see some seals during our trip. The residents were delighted by our seal-spotting activity. Take a look at our lovely pictures of the seals playing on the rocks.

Our residents saw the historic town of Oban during the trip. Oban is a popular holiday destination because of its beautiful sights, seafood restaurants, and Highland history.

Why are outings important?

Outings are essential for the well-being of our residents. They offer:

  • Mental Stimulation: New environments and experiences help keep the mind active and engaged.
  • Social Interaction: Group outings foster a sense of community and provide opportunities for socializing.
  • Physical Activity: Even gentle activities, like walking around new places, can be beneficial for physical health.
  • Emotional Well-being: Spending time in nature and enjoying new sights can boost mood and reduce stress.

Our staff also found the trip rewarding. Margaret, our Activity Coordinator, said, "It was amazing to see the residents so happy and engaged. Trips like this make a difference."

We are always looking for new and exciting places to take our residents. If you have any suggestions for future outings or activities, please let us know. We aim to make each trip a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
